30 million VND in bonuses for police officers
On Monday, the Da Nang Party Committee Secretary, Mr Nguyen Xuan Anh, awarded 30 million VND from the city’s budget as bonuses to the police officers who successfully arrested the killer of a man at the Thien pavement restaurant in Hai Chau District late last year.
Secretary Anh praised the officers for their great efforts in investigating this serious case over the past 7 months, and for arresting Lu Dinh Kien, 25, from Dak Lak Province. He also took the opportunity to ask them to promptly complete their case files and bring the case to trial in order to step up the public fight against crimes and to ensure security in the city.

At 6.30pm on 19 December 2015, Kien stabbed Phan Toan to death with a knife at the Thien pavement restaurant after an altercation there. Although Kien fled the city, police continued their endeavours to arrest him.
On 5 June, Kien gave himself up to the local police and confessed because he knew he could not hide forever.
