Activities to mark National Sea and Islands Week
On Wednesday, a total of 100 State management cadres from Da Nang’s departments and agencies, along with involved employees from local petroleum storage areas and petrol businesses, were introduced to effective ways to respond to oil spills. The focus was also on helping the participants learn more about how to use oil spill response equipment and supplies if an incident occurs.
Organised by the municipal Department of Natural Resources and the Environment, the event was part of activities to mark the National Sea and Islands Week 2016, which took place across the country from 1 - 8 June.
A city-level oil spill response practice will take place at the city’s Lien Chieu Port on 24 June.
Also on Wednesday, a total of 190 teachers from primary schools in Hoa Vang District were introduced to the Law of the Sea of Viet Nam which was passed on 21 June 2012. The aim was to help them understand more about the national sea law, and then inspire their pupils to love their fatherland's sea and islands.
