On Monday, Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho sent thank you letters to all those involved in saving the lives of the passengers from the Thao Van 2 trip boat which capsized on the Han River on the evening of 4 June.
The rescuers were military officers and men, militia groups, and relevant agencies’ employees from across the city, along with fishermen and crew members onboard other boats operating on the river at the time of the accident.
In his letters, Chairman Tho remarked that the tragic incident had caused very painful consequences because of the unexpected passing of 3 passengers who will be sadly missed by their families. Also, the incident has blighted the image of the city, and especially its tourism sector.
