City leader recognises Viet Nam Elderly Day
On Wednesday, to mark the 75th anniversary of Viet Nam Elderly Day (6 June), Da Nang People's Council Vice Chairman Nguyen Nho Trung, along with some leaders from the municipal Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, visited 3 local 100-year-old women and presented gifts to them, as well as congratulated them on their longevity.
The recipients were Vietnamese Heroic Mother Pham Thi Doa from Thanh Khe District’s Chinh Gian Ward, Mother of Martyrs Tran Thi Hue from Lien Chieu District’s Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, and Mother of Martyrs Tran Thi Mang from Hai Chau District’s Thach Thang Ward.
Vice Chairman Trung extended his greetings to them, and wished them good health and a happy life. He took the opportunity to encourage them to continue being good examples for other elderly people, and he asked their family members to ensure the best care for them.
To mark the occasion, the city leader also visited elderly people living at the Da Nang Social Support Centre and gave them gifts.
