In his letters, Secretary Anh expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims. He said that the tragic incident had caused very painful consequences, and the unexpected passing of the 3 passengers will be a huge loss to their families.
He remarked that the offenders involved in the capsize would be brought to court as soon as possible. The strict punishments imposed on them will be a warning to others to make sure that such a horrific tragedy never happens in the city again.
The city authorities are giving top priority to tightening their management of inland waterway transport and of local tourism and entertainment areas to ensure the safety of visitors to the city.
With a strong sense of responsibility, Secretary Anh pledged that he and other city leaders would do their utmost to relieve the profound sadness of the families of the victims.
Secretary Anh apologised for not being able to personally visit the 2 families due to his busy work schedule, but he expressed his hope that they would be able to overcome their emotional trauma and continue with their lives.
