During a meeting with the hospital’s leaders, the city leader praised the hospital’s staff for their professional skills and their devotion.  He promised that the local authorities will accelerate the 2nd phase of the Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital expansion project in order to reduce the problems of overload at the hospital and meet the increasing demands for medical examinations and treatment.

Currently, the Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital is treating 950 child patients of whom 380 are from other localities.  The hospital receives more than 1,000 visitors every day.

On the same day, the municipal People’s Council Deputy Chairman, Mr Nguyen Nho Trung, visited and gave gifts to children being care for at the city’s Centre for Social Protection.  He encouraged them to overcome their difficulties by studying well and becoming useful citizens in society.

The Centre for Social Protection is now home to 162 people.  Amongst them, 77 are elderly, 59 are disabled, 16 are paralysed or mentally disabled, and the remaining 10 are itinerant beggars.

The Ngu Hanh Son District authorities presented 60 gifts totalling over 35 million VND to local poor children in the Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital.  Gifts valued at 150 million VND in total were given to local poor children.  The gifts were donated by businesses and charity social welfare organisations in the district.
