Two sets of remains found during the 123rd Joint Field Activities from May to June this year were handed over to the US side.

The remains had been jointly reviewed and concluded by Viet Nam and US forensic specialists that they might be associated with the US servicemen missing during the war in Viet Nam and were recommended to bring to Hawaii, the United States, for further verification.

Speaking at the ceremony, the US Government representative appreciated Viet Nam’s humanitarian policy, good-will and the effective collaboration of the Vietnamese Government and its people.

The search for the remains of US servicemen missing during the war in Viet Nam is humanitarian cooperation between the governments of Viet Nam and the US.

This is the 138th hand-over of American missing servicemen’s remains since 1973.
