Performance of Board of Urban Affairs
During his recent interview with reporter Son Trung from the DA NANG Newspaper, the Head of the municipal People Council’s Board of Urban Affairs, Mr To Van Hung, said that his board is focussing on dealing with urgent matters raised by local voters, especially environmental pollution and urban order.
Recently, the board’s leaders have made 9 inspection visits to some of the city’s hot spots of pollution. Included were the Tho Quang fishing wharf, the Khanh Son Waste Dump, the Lien Chieu wastewater treatment system, and the flood drainage canals in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Lien Commune. After these visits they were able to present solutions for dealing with the problems to the local authorities for their consideration. One of their suggestions is to establish an advanced environmental monitoring station in the city.

Mr Hung remarked, “My board will supervise the implementation of the city’s approved master plans and the rechecking of any adjustments to make them match with the city’s progress in the new situation. We will also listen to opinions from experts and scientists, and complaints from local residents, to create the highest level of consensus between the local authorities and residents about the city’s policies.”
Importance will be attached to enhancing the monitoring of management responsibilities of local relevant agencies to ensure the best living environment for residents. Heed will be paid to ensuring urban order and landscape, and traffic safety, as well as promoting a civilised urban lifestyle.
