Suggestions made to PCl by DOLISA
Between January and June, the Da Nang Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA) helped over 17,000 local residents gain work, and provided vocational training courses for more than 18,000 people. In addition, a total of 3,334 households were lifted out of poverty, and over 1,300 houses were built for social beneficiaries.
DOLISA recently suggested the municipal People’s Council (PCl) should impose stricter punishments on those who force elderly, children, or the disabled to work as itinerant beggars, and street vendors who insist on begging for passers-by to buy their goods.
Also, more incentive policies should be issued to support local businesses involved in providing vocational training courses for local residents, and offering jobs for them. In addition, more funds should be granted to economic models to help them provide more job opportunities for local job seekers.
DOLISA’s suggestions will be presented at the upcoming 2nd session of the municipal PCl in its 9th tenure of the 2016 - 2021 term.
