Landlords in Viet Nam will soon be able to enjoy the convenience of declaring temporary residency for their foreign tenants via an online form when a new system initiated by the country’s immigration bureau is launched.

The Vietnamese Immigration Department on Tuesday unveiled its online system of temporary residency declaration in a conference it co-hosted with the police division of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province in southern Viet Nam.

The new system, set to be accessible at http://baria-vungtau.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/, will allow the online declaration and management of temporary residency information.

Using the Internet, landlords and house owners in Viet Nam who house foreign citizens can go to the address to proceed with temporary residency declaration procedures, without the hassle of going through the red tape at local police stations.

The online declaration can be done every time a foreign citizen moves in, an official said in Tuesday’s conference.

The system is a joint effort between the country’s Immigration Department and Ba Ria-Vung Tau Police, aimed at simplifying bureaucratic procedures in the country.

The system will be put up for a test run in the southern province before it is implemented nationwide, according to information provided in the conference.

Brigadier Bui Van Thao, deputy chief of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Police, said the division had launched a program training 50 accommodation facilities and local police forces in the province to use the new system.
