Under the effect of a trough, bad weather is expected to keep lashing the north, with rainfall topping 50 millimeters in the first few days of the week.

Landslides and flash floods are imminent in mountainous areas whereas inundation is probable in delta regions, Lan said.

As the trough is becoming weaker, the northern region may have less rain starting midweek, the climate specialist forecast.

Bright days and wet eves are predicted in the Central Highlands and southern regions thanks to southwesterly winds, while coastal locales are expected to be exposed to downpours.

Rain intensity and frequency are likely to decrease in the southern region by Friday, the meteorologist said.

But it is set to become gloomy and rainy in the Central Highlands and southern regions on the weekend, as southwesterly winds are forecast to gain their strength back at that time, Lan concluded.
