The South-East Asia Region (SEAR) of the World Health Organisation recently donated 20 bicycles, valued at 1.2 million VND each, and gave scholarships, worth 500,000 VND each, to 28 poor studious pupils in Da Nang’s Hai Chau District.

Previously, SEAR had presented similar scholarships to 138 poor pupils from 6 local districts - 28 in Cam Le, 18 in Ngu Hanh Son, 26 in Thanh Khe, and 22 in each of Lien Chieu, Son Tra and Hoa Vang districts.

The gifts aim to help local poor pupils prepare for the upcoming 2016 - 2017 academic year, which will officially begin early next month.
