At the launching ceremony in Da Nang on 22 September, representatives from 14 journalists' associations in the central region and Central Highlands handed over 4,000 items to the museum.

Deputy Chairman of the VJA Mai Duc Loc said the donated objects and documents have shed some light on the development history of Viet Nam’s revolutionary press while conveying a message to younger generations of Vietnamese journalists on upholding the tradition of their predecessors.

The drive to collect documents, artifacts and photos is one of the 4 activities in the Viet Nam Press Museum Scheme, which was approved by the Prime Minister in August 2014.

The Viet Nam Press Museum in Ha Noi has been added to the master plan on the national museum system by 2020.
