Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho recently sent a letter to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF)-Viet Nam to confirm the city’s participation in The Earth Hour City Challenge (EHCC) 2017-2018 programme.

Innitated by WWF, EHCC aims to appeal for action and support from cities in the global transition towards a climate friendly, one-planet future, and to stimulate the development and dissemination of best practices for climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Chairman Tho remarked that a project for developing Da Nang into an environmentally-friendly city by 2020 is progressing well.  He affirmed that the EHCC is consistent with Da Nang’s future development strategies and orientations.

The city leader hoped that the WWF-Viet Nam would assist Da Nang in completing registration procedures as well as during its participation in the programme.
