Final 12 selected in landscape design contest
The entries in the international-level contest to design the landscape along both banks of Da Nang’s Han River have now been reduced to the final 12.
The contest was officially launched on 1 August. It is being co-organised by the municipal Department of Construction and the Viet Nam National Institute of Architecture, under the sponsorship of the Viet Nam Association of Architects.
The contest’s organisers received 12 entries from joint ventures between Vietnamese and foreign businesses, 14 from joint ventures amongst international businesses, and 13 from domestic registrants, including 4 from Da Nang itself.
The selection of the 12 most outstanding was based on careful appraisement of their design capabilities and experiences. These entrants are required to submit their completed design proposals to the contest’s organisers no later than 15 October, and to give their oral presentation in front of the judging board on 27 October.
The public will be encouraged to vote online for their favourites from among the best 12 entries. The website address will be announced soon, and voting online will be open between 15 and 29 October.
The first prize winner will receive 50,000 USD, and the second prize is 20,000 USD. These prizes will be determined by the contest’s judging board. The entry receiving the highest number of public votes will receive a 5,000 USD cash prize.
The awards ceremony is expected to be held on 30 October.
