Customs officers at Da Nang International Airport recently apprehended a Japanese national who had intended to carry a large amount of cash, in USD and Japanese Yen, with him on a flight to Japan.  The foreign currency, equal to around 600 million VND, did not have any declaration papers or other relevant documents.

The violation was detected when customs officers were dealing with the exit procedures for this Japanese passenger who was scheduled to fly on VN318 from Da Nang to Narita City.

The passenger has already been given an administrative fine, whilst the foreign currency has been temporarily seized for further investigation.
