Plans for traffic arrangements during construction of new tunnel

Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho has recently approved new plans for traffic arrangements around the construction site of the road tunnel taking Tran Phu under the busy junction with Le Duan.  The construction work is currently suspended, but it will restart immediately after the 5th Asian Beach Games (ABG5) end on 3 October.

Under the approved plans, signboards will be placed at the eastern end of the Han River Bridge, the western and eastern ends of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge, the intersection of Dien Bien Phu, Le Duan and Ly Thai To, the intersection of Nguyen Tat Thanh and 3 February, and the intersection of Dien Bien Phu and Nguyen Tri Phuong.  The aim is to redirect traffic away from the construction site.

During the 1st stage of the project, all types of vehicles en route from Son Tra District to Hai Chau District will be banned from using the Han River Bridge. 

A 5.5-wide temporary road will be opened for vehicles running on Tran Phu from the western bank of the Han River Bridge to its intersection with Quang Trung.  One-way traffic will be compulsory on a section of Quang Trung between its intersections with Bach Dang and Le Loi.

Between 6.30am and 9.00am, and between 4.00pm and 7.00pm, cars will not be allowed to park along a section of Le Loi between its intersections with Dong Da and Phan Dinh Phung, a section of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai between its intersections with Ly Tu Trong and Pasteur, a section of Nguyen chi Thanh between its intersections with Phan Dinh Phung and Ly Tu Trong, and a section of Ly Tu Trong between its intersections with Bach Dang and Le Loi, a section of Quang Trung between its intersections with Bach Dang and Le Loi, a section of Hai Phong between its intersections with Le Loi and Nguyen Chi Thanh, a section of Yen Bai between its intersections with Le Duan and Phan Dinh Phung, and a section of Phan Dinh Phung between its intersections with Le Loi and Tran Phu.

Also during the above-mentioned regulated time periods, over 16-seater vehicles will be banned from using a section of Dong Da between its intersections with 3 February and Ong Ich Khiem, a section of Le Loi between its intersections with Dong Da and Le Duan, a section of Tran Phu between its intersections with 3 February and Hung Vuong, a section of Quang Trung between its intersections with Bach Dang and Dong Da, a section of Le Duan between its intersections with Le Loi and Yen Bai, a section of Yen Bai between its intersections with Le Duan and Phan Dinh Phung, and a section of Nguyen Chi Thanh between its intersections with Phan Dinh Phung and Quang Trung.
