The awards ceremony took place on Wednesday in Da Nang for the contest to find the best ideas for floral displays and lighting decorations for the 2017 Tet Festival.

The contest, the 3^rd of its kind in the city, was organised by local relevant agencies.  Between 30 May and 15 July, the contest’s organisers received 15 entries in each of the 2 categories.

Contestants from the Da Nang University of Architecture took the first prizes of 20 million VND in both categories.  In addition, a second prize of 10 million VND, a third of 5 million VND, and 3 consolation prizes of 3 million VND each were awarded in each category.

The municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman cum Head of the contest’s Organising Board, Mr Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, highly praised the quality of this year’s entries.

Appeals for public donations will be made to implement the winning ideas in time for the Tet celebrations at the end of January.

In particular, locally grown flowers will be displayed during the festival.  The city’s Green Trees-Park Company will work closely with local relevant agencies to sign purchase contracts with local flower-growers.
