It was agreed to open a 5.5-wide temporary road for vehicles running on Tran Phu from the western bank of the Han River Bride to its intersection with Quang Trung.  The intention is to ease traffic congestion during the construction period.

In particular, one-way traffic will be compulsory on a section of Quang Trung between its intersections with Bach Dang and Le Loi.

Over 16-seater vehicles, (not motorbikes) will be banned from driving on a section of Dong Da between its intersections with 3 February and Ong Ich Khiem, a section of Le Loi between its intersections with Dong Da and Le Duan, a section of Tran Phu between its intersections with 3 February and Hung Vuong, and some sections of other inner-city streets.

The municipal Department of Transport will join efforts with the project’s contractors, consultants, and managers to estimate the volume of traffic at different hours of the day to find the best solutions to ease possible traffic congestion.

Special attention will be paid to publicising traffic arrangement plans amongst the general public.

The construction of the tunnel is now being suspended until the 5th Asian Beach Games (ABG5) end on 3 October.  After this, construction fences and signboards will be placed at the site and the construction work will restart.
