Vallet Scholarships given to central regional students and pupils
On Monday, the Meeting Viet Nam organisation presented Vallet Scholarships to 241 outstanding students and pupils who had won prizes at international Olympiads and national contests. Students who had gained excellent study results during the 2015 - 2016 academic year also received scholarships. Each scholarship is valued at between 9 and 15 million VND.

One hundred and seventy recipients were from Da Nang, whilst the remainder came from Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Phu Yen provinces.
The Vallet Scholarships Fund was established in 2001 by French Professor Odon Vallet from France’s Sorbonne Paris University. In Viet Nam, the Fund is cooperating with the Meeting Viet Nam organisation, which was founded by the Vietnamese-French Professor Tran Thanh Van, to grant scholarships to Vietnamese recipients.
Over the past 16 years, the Fund has granted a total of over 100 billion VND to more than 21,000 Vietnamese students and pupils. In 2014 alone it gave scholarships worth 20 billion VND in total to over 2,000 recipients across the country.
Vallet Scholarships have also been given to students and pupils who come from poor families and ethnic minority groups, children living in SOS villages nationwide, and many Vietnamese students studying in France.
