According to a recent announcement by the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Da Nang ranked 2nd amongst 63 cities and provinces nationwide in the protection of children's rights in 2015.

Ha Noi came out top, followed by Da Nang, Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City.

The results were from a piece of research conducted by the Ministry’s Children’s Healthcare and Protection Department, and the Centre for Sustainable Development Policy Studies of the Viet Nam Academy of Social Sciences.

The rankings are based on child-related criteria: the attention paid to providing education and healthcare services, the protection and safeguarding of children, ensuring their active involvement in community activities, and their comprehensive development in terms of intellect, physical strength and entertainment activities.

The research study was designed to provide government leaders at all levels, plus domestic and international organisations, with information about child protection, healthcare and educational activities throughout the country.
