Mr Huy was required to remove all the violating information posted on Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ilovedanang.
After conducting their investigations, police officers from the Internal Political Security Office (PA83) of the city’s Police Department, having cooperated with inspectors from the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications, made a surprise inspection of the SS Internet shop which is managed by Huy. Huy was identified as the administrator of the violating Facebook page.
According to Huy’s confession, he created the Facebook account in April 2011 and, to date, the page has over 73,000 followers. He often shares articles about the city which reflect his own one-sided and subjective status. Therefore, this has attracted many negative comments from followers of Huy’s Facebook page. Their comments aim to distort information about the city’s leaders and tarnish their reputations.
On this occasion, Col Tran Dinh Lien, Deputy Director of the city’s Police Department, awarded a total of 5 million VND from the city’s budget as bonuses to the PA83 police officers in recognition of their active involvement in this investigation.
