On the same day, the Dong A University presented scholarships, worth 212 million VND in total, to 200 of its students. The beneficiaries come from affected families in the flood-hit central provinces of Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Ha Tinh and Nghe An. The money had been raised by the university’s students and local generous donors.
In addition, the university’s youth union presented 4.3 million VND from its annual fund, called ‘Feeding the Piggy Bank to Buy Bus Tickets for Poor Students to Return Home for Tet’, to help more central region flood victims.
The FFC in Lien Chieu District is appealing for donations to help residents in flood-affected areas overcome their current difficulties and be able to continue with their normal lives as soon as possible. Donations can be sent to the district’s FFC headquarters at 89 Ngo Thi Nham no later than 10 November.
To date, hundreds of government employees and Party members from the district’s agencies and organisations have made donations.
