Approval has been given by Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho to establish a rescue team consisting of 20 military officers and soldiers from the city’s Border Guard force.  The Commander of the Da Nang Port border gate, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Dinh, will be the head of the team.

The team will be on duty around the clock and operate at the Han River Port and the former Thuan Phuoc fishing port.  They will be ready for the prompt rescue of any victims of natural disasters or waterway accidents on the Han River or at sea.

Chairman Tho urged the municipal Border Guard High Command to offer training courses to the rescuers involved to help them enhance their professional skills.
