5 billion VND donated to flood-hit central provinces
Last Saturday, a group of Da Nang's leaders, led by municipal People’s Committee (PC) Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung, visited and donated Thua Thien Hue Province one billion VND from the city’s budget to help the locality deal with the aftermath of the recent devastating floods.

On behalf of the provincial authorities, provincial PC Vice Chairman Dinh Khac Dinh thanked the Da Nang authorities for their great support for his province although the city was being affected by floods and heavy rains. He added that the total cost of damage in his locality is estimated to be around 600 billion VND.
Also on the same day, Da Nang PC Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh paid visits to Binh Dinh, Quang Ngai and Phu Yen provinces. He also gave 2 billion VND from the city’s budget to Binh Dinh, 1 billion VND to Quang Ngai, and 1 billion VND to Phu Yen in order to help them overcome the consequences of the recent floods.
Mr Le Quang Thich, Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, said that the recent severe floods had left 13 local people dead, and over 140 houses destroyed. In addition, hundreds of hectares of vegetables were submerged, and thousands of cattle and poultry died. This made the lives of local residents become more difficult.
Mr Tran Chau, Vice Chairman of the Binh Dinh Provincial PC, reported that the recent prolonged heavy rains and floods killed 45 people and inundated hundreds of local houses. The total cost of damage in this locality is estimated to reach more than 400 billion VND.
The Chairman of the Phu Yen Provincial PC, Mr Hoang Van Tra, noted that the devastating floods in December caused an estimated hundreds of billions of VND in total damage to his locality.
Vice Chairman Minh expressed his sympathy to these localities about the huge damage caused by the recent floods. He hoped that his city’s financial aid would help their local residents overcome their current difficulties and soon be able to continue with their normal lives.
