In response to a recent appeal from the Da Nang Traffic Board, local agencies and departments are now encouraging their employees to go to work by bus rather than using their personal vehicles.

The intention is to build a more cultured and civilised urban lifestyle, ease traffic congestion, reduce the number of road traffic accidents, and also reduce the volume of exhaust fumes from vehicles which cause environmental pollution.

As recently reported, a programme which subsidises ticket fares on 5 new intra-city bus routes officially started in Da Nang on 10 December.  Buses operate daily on these routes every 10 - 20 minutes from 5.00am to 9.00pm.  All local residents and visitors can currently travel free on the already-operating routes during the 30 days after the official launch.
