Approval has been given by the Da Nang People’s Committee for a tourism souvenirs design contest in the city.

The intention is to select the most beautiful designs for souvenirs to be offered as gifts to the participants of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Viet Nam 2017 programme.  In addition, it will help to encourage participating contestants to promote their creativity in designing handicrafts. 

During the contest, comments and opinions from relevant experts will be offered to help the contestants perfect their entries.  Their designs are required to feature high economic value and meet technical and aesthetic standards.

The contest is open to all domestic businesses, along with Vietnamese people and ex-pats living and working anywhere in Viet Nam.

The first prize is 50 million VND, with a second prize of 25 million VND and 2 third prizes of 15 million VND each.  In addition, there will be 10 consolation prizes of 8 million VND.

Contestants are required to send their entries to the Industrial Management Office of the municipal Department of Industry and Trade at 6 Tran Quy Cap in Hai Chau District (Tel: 0511 3898277).  Entries must be received by March 2017.

The awards ceremony is expected to be held on 1 April 2017.
