Secretary Anh presented gifts and he extended best wishes to them both.  He hoped that they would continue to stay healthy, uphold their families’ traditional patriotism, and encourage their descendants to make even greater efforts for the city’s progress.

During a meeting the same day with local Catholic dignitaries, PaC Secretary Anh and Deputy Secretary Vo Cong Tri expressed appreciation for their joining efforts with the city’s leaders and people to effectively implement local patriotic emulation movements, and fulfil their assigned socio-economic development tasks.

They asked the dignitaries to encourage their followers to continue with their efforts to carry out the ‘City of 4 Safe Programmes’ campaign effectively in order to make Da Nang a more liveable city.

On the same day, PCl Vice Chairman Nguyen Nho Trung and some representatives from the Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs visited and presented gifts to elderly people living at the city’s Care Centre for Social Policy Beneficiaries.

On behalf of the city leaders, Vice Chairman Trung highly praised the centre’s staff for their great efforts in caring for the social policy beneficiaries.  He also affirmed that the care of the elderly is the responsibility of today’s generations.

The centre is now providing care for 59 elderly social policy beneficiaries.  Most of them have no families or relatives.

During his meeting with 72-year-old war invalids Nguyen Luong Dien and Nguyen Ngoc Thoa in Son Tra District, Vice Chairman Trung wished them good health, and encouraged them to continue to be good examples for their descendants.

Also on Thursday, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung visited the city’s Centre for Social Protection.  The centre is now home to 170 elderly, disabled, orphaned and mentally disabled.  He encouraged the centre’s staff to do their utmost to help them celebrate a happy and warm Tet.
