According to the latest statistics released by the district’s Health Office, the district is now home to a total of 1,200 such establishments. 175 of them are under the management of the district authorities, and the remaining 1,025 under the district’s wards. All of them have been granted food safety and hygiene certificates and have satisfied the State regulations on business licences, periodic medical examination certificates, clear origin of food, and price displaying.
Recently, the Health Office and local relevant agencies in the district have increased their checks over food safety and hygiene at the food trading and processing establishments, and intend to visit each once or twice a year.
In January alone, 10 establishments in the district were fined over 7.3 million VND in total for violating the city's food safety and hygiene standards.
In the near future, food management software will be developed, whilst a special item about food safety will be created on the district People’s Committee’s website to provide local residents and visitors with a list of those establishments which meet the city's food safety and hygiene regulations.
In addition, hot lines will be set up in each of the district’s wards for people to report any food safety and hygiene problems in the locality.
