Driver Mai Dinh Hoa from Da Nang-based Tien Sa Taxis successfully helped his passenger deliver a baby whilst he was taking her to hospital.

On 5 March, Mr Hoa picked up an about-to-deliver passenger at 39 Cam Bac 9 Street in Cam Le District’s Hoa Tho Dong Ward to take her to the city’s Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital.

The 23-year-old woman suddenly cried out in pain as the taxi was crossing the Tien Son Bridge.  Mr Hoa immediately stopped his cab on the bridge and helped her to successfully deliver her baby boy in the back seat of the car before continuing the journey to the hospital.

The mother and her newborn baby are currently receiving medical care at the hospital and are in a stable condition.

Mr Nguyen Van Hien, Deputy Director of the Tien Sa Taxis, recently rewarded driver Hoa for his good deed.
