Between January and March, 29 Da Nang establishments were found to have violated the city’s food safety and hygiene regulations, and administrative fines have been imposed on them.  The lowest and highest administrative fines were 300,000 VND and 16,650,000 VND respectively.

The majority of the violators were involved in the slaughter, trade and transport of livestock and poultry, as well as some making the ‘nem chua’ (fermented pork roll) and ‘cha bo’ (grilled beef patty).

These establishments were operating without food safety and hygiene certification.  Some slaughter houses did not meet the city’s regulations on veterinary hygiene standards, and they operated in unlicenced premises.  In addition, some businesses specialising in the transport of livestock and poultry meat products were found not using specialised vehicles whilst delivering their products.

The list of the 29 violators has been published at http://snnptnt.danang.gov.vn/chi-tiet?idcat=12433&articleId=322203

During surprise inspections made by relevant agencies over the 1st quarter, another 355 local establishments were judged to be meeting the city’s food safety and hygiene regulations, and their names can be found at http://snnptnt.danang.gov.vn/chi-tiet?idcat=12433&articleId=316925
