According to the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the intense heat wave which has prolonged across Da Nang and elsewhere in the central region will end by this afternoon due to the influence of the northeast monsoon.

A current of cold air will affect the northern provinces from today, 21 April, and the mid-central regional localities, including Da Nang, from tomorrow afternoon.

Due to the effects of the cold air moving down from the north, the Da Nang area will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoons and at night over the next few days.  The thunderstorms could cause lightning, whirlwinds, hail and strong winds, and could reach disaster risk level 2.
