Since mid-June, local women’s unions at grass-roots level have organised ‘Warm Family Meals’ cooking contests with the aim of creating closer links between family members.

In addition, the municipal Department of Culture and Sports has today, 28 June, launched a ‘Warm and Loving Family Meals’ movement across the city.  The intention is to encourage local citizens to cherish the moments of family reunions in order to together build prosperous, equal and happy families.

Apart from preparing healthy meals for their families, local women are being encouraged to become involved in dancing and sports activities.  This will help them to keep their health and beauty.

In particular, women’s unions in Hai Chau and Thanh Khe districts have established dance clubs for their members and local women.

In response to the National Action Month against Domestic Violence, banners proclaiming ‘Domestic Violence Violates the National Laws’ and ‘Domestic Violence Depresses Children’s Studying Abilities and Comprehensive Development’ have been displayed on local main streets.

Mrs Nguyen Thi Nga, Deputy Head of the Family and Cultural Lifestyles Office, stressed the need for family members to share their responsibilities to prevent the risk of domestic violence on the basis of openness, understanding and generosity.  She added that each family member has to continue to enhance their knowledge and behavioural skills in their daily lives.
