Addressing the event, municipal People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho remarked “The authorities and people of Da Nang have always acknowledged the great service and sacrifices of former revolutionary cadres, martyrs and ex-servicemen in the struggle for national independence.  Over the past 2 decades, the local authorities, and political and social organisations, have focused on enhancing the material and spiritual lives of Vietnamese heroic mothers, war invalids and relatives of martyrs, as well as ensuring that all local social policy families have stable houses.”

On behalf of the city leaders, Chairman Tho highly praised local departments, agencies, organisations and individuals for their active involvement in helping war invalids, martyrs, and those who gave great service in the national revolution.  He also expressed his deep gratitude to local ex-servicemen and families of martyrs for their great efforts in promoting the city’s growth over the past 20 years.
