As a result, the Da Nang Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (Danapha) has fenced off its land at the intersection of Nguyen Van Linh and Huynh Thuc Khang with metal sheeting, 4m away from the inner edge of the pavements, and has planted grasses there.
A 6,000m2 section of riverside land on 2 September street has been cleared of grasses. A large vacant land lot at the intersection of Pham Van Dong and Vo Nguyen Giap and another 880m-long piece of land along Tran Hung Dao have been fenced off with metal sheeting.
The local authorities have instructed the military-run telecom group Viettel to plant flowers and fence off its 10,765m2 piece of land along 2 September street near the Peace Monument.
In addition, 1.327 billion VND from the city budget will be spent by the local Land Fund Development Centre on cleaning up the environment, and planting flowers and grasses, on vacant land lots along Nguyen Van Linh, Vo Van Kiet, Hoang Sa, Vo Nguyen Giap, Truong Sa, Ngo Quyen, Ngu Hanh Son, Le Van Hien, Tran Hung Dao and Le Van Duyet.
Mr Dang Quang Vinh, Head of the municipal Environmental Protection Bureau, said that his unit and local relevant agencies will make every effort to identify the owners of unknown vacant land lots in the city and ask them to create eye-catching landscapes which provide clean and airy spaces.
