Addressing the event, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh highly praised the honourees for their great efforts in helping local social policy beneficiaries. He remarked that the local authorities will continue to effectively implement the city’s numerous social programmes for social policy families. The focus will be on building new houses or repairing deteriorated ones for these families, as well as refurbishing the local martyrs’ cemeteries.
Currently, a total of about 100,000 people across the city are enjoying preferential policies for those who gave great service in the national revolution. Included are about 17,000 martyrs and 27,000 their relatives, and 3,254 Vietnamese heroic mothers. Over the past 5 years, the city has given regular allowances to local social policy beneficiaries in accordance with the national laws.
