Over 17 billion VND raised for the poor
Between January and June, chapters at all levels of the Da Nang Fatherland Front have raised a total of over 17 billion VND from generous domestic and foreign donors for the city’s Fund for the Poor.
The money has gone to help local social policy beneficiaries to either repair their deteriorated houses or build new ones, provide scholarships for poor studious school pupils and university students, and implement numerous charitable activities across the city.
In the remaining half of the year, the municipal Fatherland Front Committee and its member organisations will give top priority to carrying out many patriotic emulation movements, promote democracy, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of local citizens.
This information was reported at a meeting on Monday to review the city’s socio-economic development and its security and defence over the first half of this year, as well as to identify key tasks for the remaining months.
