A ship from the Regional Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre No 2 rescued an ill fisherman on a fishing boat and took the victim to Da Nang on Thursday morning.

According to the centre, the fisherman, Ho Than, 31, suffered a severe bellyache when the ship was fishing in an area near the Hoang Sa (Paracels) Archipelago on July 10.

The rescue ship found the victim and the fishing boat at about 9.00pm on 12 July and gave first aid to the victim.

The fisherman has been receiving further treatment at the city’s General Hospital.
