From now until the end of this year, the Hai Chau District authorities will conduct 3 inspection visits to some local crowded tourist attractions with the aim of dealing with the harassment of tourists, illegal street vendors and itinerant beggars.

These attractions are the Bat Nha, Phap Lam and An Long pagodas, and the Han, Con, Dong Da and Hoa Cuong wholesale markets, plus such local main streets as Bach Dang, Le Duan and Nguyen Tat Thanh.

The first visit lasts from 25 August to 5 September, the second from 25 October - 3 November, and the third from 26 - 31 December.

Violators will be either facilitated to live in the city’s centres for social protection or sent to local relevant agencies for handling, depending on the particular circumstances of each case.

To date, a total of 43 itinerant beggars and tourist harassment cases have been handled.  Six of them came from other localities nationwide, whilst the remainder are Da Nang citizens.
