Food Safety Management Board established
Follow recent approval by Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the Da Nang Food Safety Management Board has been established on a trial basis for 3 years. The board official made its debut and began operating in the city on 25 August.
As planned, the newly-established Board is under the management of the municipal People’s Committee. It takes responsibility for monitoring and managing safety-related issues in food production, processing and distribution in the city, as well as inspecting and checking the safety and hygiene of local food providers. The focus is on enhancing the efficiency of organic food supply chains and furthering the development of safe food trading models in the city.
The Board now has a Head and a maximum of 3 deputy heads.
