Since operations began in May 2013, the Suoi Hoa (Spring Flower) Charity Nursery House of the Suoi Hoa tourism site in Phu Tuc Village, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang, has provided free medical treatment for poor patients with life-threatening diseases from the city and its neighbouring localities.

The 3.7 billion VND House has 50 rooms, including 40 hospital rooms providing a total of 80 beds.  It features interior furnishings totalling over 600 million VND which was raised from generous domestic and foreign donors.

Staying at the House, patients daily enjoy the beautiful and breathtaking scenery, plus the fresh air, which all create a suitable space for those who are receiving traditional medicine treatment.

Over the past 4 years, the House has given medical examinations and treatment to 1,200 patients in total, about 240 of whom have terminal cancer.  The House’s inpatients have been provided with free care, medical treatment and nutritional regime with husked rice and sesame salt.  Thanks to this special nutritional programme, most of the cancer patients can prolong their lives and reduce their physical pain before death.

During that period, the total cost for the House’s inpatients has been 1.64 billion VND, and all the money has been donated by generous domestic and foreign individuals and organisations, along with the patients themselves.

In addition to cancer patients, the venue is home to many poor people with incurable diseases.

Amongst them is Mr Nguyen Hung from Quang Nam Province’s Dien Phuong Commune who is suffering from Parkinson’s disease, and he has lived in the House for 4 years.

Another patient is Tran Khanh Le from Ho Chi Minh City who has high cholesterol.  After 6 months of eating husked rice and sesame salt, his health is recovered well.

Currently, the Suoi Hoa Charity Nursery House is being upgraded at an estimated cost of over 120 million VND.  The focus is on repainting the house, hospital beds and fences, installing lighting systems, and planting more trees and flowers.  The intention is to create a closer and friendlier environment for patients.
