Previously, the patient had been rushed to the hospital due to severe abdominal pains, abnormal human body temperature, and excessive sweating. With the help of an ultrasound scan, doctors detected that the man had an abdominal aortic aneurysm and hypertension.
In an attempt to save his life, the surgeons together successfully removed the damaged area of the aorta and replaced it with an artificial one.
After the 3-hour-long operation, the patient gradually recovered his health. There were no signs of infection, and abdominal and pelvic pains.
The male patient has now been discharged from the hospital.
Ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm is one of the most fatal surgical emergencies, with an overall mortality rate of 90%. This potentially life-threatening disease is relatively common. Most aneurysms rupture into the retroperitoneal cavity, which results in the classical triad of pain, hypotension, and a pulsatile mass.
