Previously, the animal had been detected and caged by locals whilst searching for food in a vast green acacia plantation in the district’s Hoa Phong Commune. Then, the locals had handed over the animal to the Division in order to release it back into the wild.
This is the 3rd animal to have been released by the Division since the start of this year, after a pig-tailed macaque (Macaca leonine) and a manouria impressa.
