According to the Da Nang Power Company, power cuts will be required in some areas of the city on Sunday (17 September) in preparation for the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2017 (AELW) from 6-11 November.

In detail, power cuts will be from 3.00am to 7.00am to allow the implementation of a power failure response practice.  The affected areas are listed as follows:

Ngu Hanh Son District: holiday resorts and hotels along coastal routes of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa, including Furama Danang Resort, Pullman Danang Resort, Hyatt Regency Danang Resort and Vinpearl Luxury Da Nang Resort.

Cam Le District: residential areas A and B in Hoa Xuan eco-urban area, Metro Supermarket, Cach Mang Thang Tam Street, Khue Trung Residential Area, Tam Tri Hospital, Da Nang International Exhibition Fair Centre

Hai Chau District: Hoa Cuong Bac Ward, the streets of 2 September and Nui Thanh, the Dao Xanh (Green Island) area, the Tien Son Sports Area, the northern side of the 2 September Peace Monument, the streets of Tran Phu, Bach Dang, Tran Quoc Toan, Phan Dang Luu, Duy Tan, Nguyen Huu Tho and Trung Nu Vuong, the Da Nang Administrative Centre, the headquarters of the municipal Party Committee, the Da Nang International Airport, the Vinmec International Hospital, the office of the Air Defence-Air Force Command, Lien Tri Nam area, residential areas of 1,2,3,4 and 5 along Nguyen Tri Phuong, Vinmec Da Nang Hospital, and other nearby areas.

As for the Son Tra District, the power cuts from 3.00am and 7.00pm will also happen at the Tho Quang Seafood Services Industrial Park (IP), the Da Nang IP, the Son Tra Peninsula, and some residential areas and businesses.  These cuts will allow the replacement of the transformer station No 174-TBA 220kV with new one.
