On Wednesday, the Vinmec Da Nang International Hospital was officially opened in Hai Chau District’s Hoa Cuong Bac Ward.

Developed by Viet Nam’s leading real estate conglomerate Vingroup, the over 52 million USD hospital is one of the 4 medical establishments in Da Nang to have been chosen to serve the upcoming APEC Economic Leaders’ Week which will take place from 6-11 November.  

Vinmec Da Nang is the 6^th of its kind, all developed by Vingroup, to be constructed in Viet Nam, after those in Ha Noi, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City and Quang Ninh Province’s Ha Long City. 

The project’s construction unit is Coteccons which is striving to become one of Viet Nam’s top construction companies in the near future.

Covering an area of over 37,000m², the hospital borders 30 April Street to the north, Than Canh Phuc to the south, Nguyen Huu Tho to the west, and Luong Nhu Hoc to the east.

The 222-bed hospital features the specialised wards of internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics and other aspects, plus many functional rooms.  In particular, the hospital’s outstanding services are emergency resuscitation, cardiovascular intervention and diagnostic imaging.

The international hospital boasts modern facilities and the world’s leading medical treatment technologies.  Most notable amongst them are the 3.0 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner, a 640-slice computed tomography (CT) one, and an Olympus GIF-HQ190 video gastroscope.

All operating room at the hospital are also fully equipped with the advanced HD audio and video transmission system.

In his speech at the hospital’s opening ceremony, the Deputy General Director of the Vinmec International General Hospital JSC, Professor Do Tat Cuong, remarked that, like other Vinmec medical establishments nationwide, Vinmec Da Nang operates for the benefits of the whole community. It aims to offer the best possible healthcare services to both locals and visitors. 

Most notably, Vinmec Da Nang is one of Viet Nam's hospitals to meet the Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation Standards for Hospitals which is regarded as the international standard in global healthcare service.

The application of JCI standard helps foreign in and out- patients feel secured whilst they are under treatment at the hospital, thereby promoting the development of the local medical tourism in the coming years.

The opening of such an international hospital in Da Nang is also help to reduce the current patient overload at local public hospitals, and facilitates local residents to access international-standard treatment services here, instead of going abroad.

Under the Vinmec Heath Care System’s development strategies by 2020, an additional 4 hospitals will be put into use.  In a similar vein, the Vinmec Medical University, along with a chain of medical research institutes involved in many aspects, will also be constructed.
