Youths' great devotion to city's growth
Da Nang’s youths have always made their great efforts towards the city’s progress over historical periods.
Since 2012, over 1.6 billion VND in total from the city Youth Union has been spent on providing a means of livelihood for about 900 needy families.

Besides, Youth Union members full of vitality have also enthusiastically engaged in numerous meaningful community programmes across the city in active response to the city’s ongoing ‘5 No’s, 3 Yes’s’ and ‘City of 4 Safe Programmes’ campaigns.
Amongst the remarkable programmes are the ‘Mua He Xanh’ (Green Summer) which is national volunteer campaign encouraging countrywide students to join efforts to help rural residents, plus the Giving Strength in the Exam Season and the ‘Ky Nghi Hong’ (Pink Holiday).
Through such programmes, gifts have been presented to 40,805 needy families and over 15,502 pupils in total, along with free medicine and treatment for about 25,000 locals. Also, a total of about 15,000 trees have been planted along 85 local streets.
The youths have also enthusiastically appealed for local dwellers to protect the environment, and build cultural and civilised urban lifestyle.
Over recent years, the young people have made joint efforts with relevant local agencies to prevent pupils from dropping out of school due to poverty.

Since 2012, the municipal Youth Union’s staff members have helped 213 juvenile delinquents ‘turn over a new leaf’ by making a positive change to their characters and encouraging them to confidently reintegrate into the community.
In particular, pieces of useful advices and encouragement have also been given to young drug-addicts to undergo rehabilitation programmes.
As tasks for the ongoing 2017 - 2021 period, Youth Union members will continue implementing their patriotic emulation movements in a bid to accelerate the city’s progress in the current context of deeper global integration.
According to Mr Nguyen Duy Minh, the Deputy Secretary of the municipal Youth Union, the ‘Start-up Innovations’ programme for his organisation’s members will take place in the coming months.
Under the programme, importance will be attached to offering many training courses and career orientations for trainees to help them clearly understand their future careers, and introducing employment opportunities to job seekers.
In a similar vein, a large number of voluntary prorammes and others involved in upholding the spirit of innovation amongst young inhabitants will be implemnted in the coming years.
