The Drug-related Crime Investigation Division of the Da Nang Department of Police successfully broke up a large-scale drugs trafficking case.

Previously, customs officers at the city’s International Airport had uncovered a package, suspected of containing a large volume of drugs.  The package was being sent by a person in Germany to a receiver at alley 408/184 Hoang Dieu. 

After carrying out their investigations, the local police officers discovered that 23-year-old Pham Vo Thanh Trung might be the receiver.

On Tuesday, Trung was apprehended by the local police officers on Do Quang whilst he was on the way to a local post office to receive the package.

A total of 305 ecstasy tablets, along with a motorbike and a cell phone were seized on the spot.
During interrogation, Trung admitted that he intended to receive the package and then hand over it to 26-year-old Vo Hoang Than Son from Quang Nam Province’s Dien Ban District. 

Thanks to Trung’s full confession, on the same day, the local police officer also immediately arrested Son who then admitted his guilt.

The Department is now completing the case files, and will bring the case to a trial soon.
