A 1.5 kg pig-tailed macaque (Macaca leonine) was recently released back into a green space on the Son Tra Peninsula’s sub-region 62 in Da Nang by employees from the municipal Forest Ranger Department.

Previously, the animal had been detected and caged by a local man who resides on Hai Chau District’s Hoang Dieu. Then, the man had handed over the primate to the Department in order to release it back into the wild.
Over recent years, thanks to the considerable encouragements from the city authorities, many local organisations and individuals have handed over their captured wild animals to relevant local agencies in order for them to be taken back to their natural habitats.
