Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Tuan on Thursday played host to a group from Yokohama City’s bureaus of Health and Social Welfare, and International Affairs.

Vice Chairman Tuan and his Japanese guests together discussed the implementation of a bilateral cooperation project for training nurses for Da Nang’s trainees in Japan in the years ahead.  This, thereby, will help to satisfy Japan’s increasing demand for caregivers for the elderly.

The host underlined the importance of making greater joint efforts by the two sides in perfecting their specific policies to implement the cooperation project in the most effective manner.

According to Mr Hitoshi Matsumoto, the Director of the Health and Social Welfare Bureau, between April 2018 and March 2019, Yokohama will welcome a total of 20 trainees from Da Nang to attend nurse training courses.

During their 3-year stay period in this Japanese locality, the Vietnamese trainees will enjoy tuition fee exemptions of 50% and 80%, for one-year Japanese classes, and 2-year courses, on nursing care for the elderly, respectively.

After their graduation, the trainees will be in charge of working in Japan within 5 years.
