It was reported that, last year, a total of 112 road traffic accidents were recorded in Da Nang.  These crashes resulted in 70 deaths and 76 serious injuries, and caused property damage of about 228 million VND in total.  However, the city saw a significant decrease in the number of accidents, deaths and injuries by 25, 19 and 23 respectively against the previous year.

A total of nearly 40 billion VND in fines was imposed on over 55,000 road traffic violators.  Also, 555 cars and over 2,510 motorbikes were temporarily seized, whilst thousands of offenders had their driving licences temporarily revoked. 

In particular, about 12,500 out of the total violations were caught on surveillance cameras installed along local streets.
